Say Hello to My New Arrival

She's here! After all of the anticipation she arrived amidst my sorrow of the loss of Oprah.  With every closed door is an open window I guess.  She weighs a shocking 1.33 pounds, and is about 7.31 inches long. 

Surprisingly, the delivery wasn't too bad...a mere 10 days, and I barely felt it.

She's happily resting at home in the original package.......roomie and I will smash a beer on a corner to Christen her later, provided she isn't paralyzed from volleyball.   I got my 'Angry Bird' finger all warmed up.

So what else has happened since I blogged last?

1.  I have a head cold like you wouldn't believe - its an Anti-Christ virus to be sure.  Where does all of the mucus come from anyway? 
2.  I was stupid to have taken 3 classes this semester......SO DUMB!
3.  I have hired a protegee.  I think it will work out well.
4.  The back yard is in full floral splendour.  Its practically a sanctuary back there.  My peony and rose plants are resurrected!
5.  I made the worst raspberry pie in pastry history
6.  I made my first pavlova to some critical acclaim
7.  I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (3/5*)
8.  Wasted too much time on Idol and DWTS.  If "i wanna be george strait" wins tonight, I am officially out of this club for good!

So those have been a rich 2 weeks I'd say.  All the while mourning the loss of Oprah.  And I'm fairly steady.  Imagine what are all of her groupies feeling today?  Seriously.  There are Oprah cults everywhere!  Probably being lead by Jamie Fox, Will Smith and Gayle.  We are hardly gonna all tune in to see Katie Couric.  Thank god I don't have a PVR or I would NEVER and I mean NEVER leave the house. 


Working a later shift today.  Had to.  I was in delivery all morning :).  So I gotta churn out some policy and bask in the beautiful aloneness that happens at 4pm! 

So thats what you have missed.    Donnie and Marie are coming to town.  Think I'd like to go.  Might surf for some tickets today.  Also have to plan the Tea Party of the century for June. Anyone who knows me will know I am sorely behind on this if I'm just brainstorming now.  I got a busy few weeks ahead!  Tomorrow I have a dinner happening in the Starlight Dining Lounge, movies Friday, and a BBQ on the Piazza di Fiori on Saturday.......

Poor Shania - I can always forgive her super long mullet, but how do I get over the Winners label left under her left shoe?  Doesn't she have "peeps" for that?  And what up with her voice.  Theres something that makes my eye twitch about her speaking voice.  Its in her throat.... Ah well...she's all about patriot love these days all right....all the way from her castle in Switzerland.

So anyhow.....today is Roger Hargreave's birthday and he's being honoured on Google.  I love the Google art o the day.  Except today its changing hourly so its extra fun.  Log on to see.

Not feeling spot on today folks.  Maybe its cuz my snowman is sitting on my shoulder.  Probably.  Totally went cold turkey on coffee today.  Obviously then....I would be in the mood for a giggle of three....back to the demotivator site I go!  These in particular made me laugh. 

I just got Windows 2010 on my pc at work.  I'm pretty jazzed about the new fonts....but utility wise.....

Now why didn't they do this to me?  Element of surprise, and an immediate pity party to commiserate with.  Everything goes down better with cake.  Note to HR.....please indicate in my file I'd like a cake and some friends at my next termination.

This cake would have been better with boob tassel for sure!  If I wanted to open a bakery I think I have a niche market here!



Ah.....yeah, that was funny.  Tonight is homework night!  Its week #1 and I'm in pretty deep.  I did however achieve a few milestones at work today so maybe I've taken root.  Maybe I'm one of em now.....Just maybe.

Have a groovy week kids.  I'm not sure if you know, but there are 320 days till my Birthday...

I'm a student again.

This time, I opted for achievable courses that I can do at work, or in my sleep with virtually NO READING!  Modules printing as we speak.......

Last night I tested "Tasty Food House" chinese cuisine to celebrate a vote for Jack!  Roomie was not best pleased on quality, but I say rice is rice........ however, observe the chicken to ball ratio:

Okay - maybe a bit more dough than meat, but its really about the sauce anyway.  Needless to say I don't think we'll be having a "Tasty" repeat.

So what is there possibly left to look forward to anymore?

Now what?  Oh right...my snow man.  Well you'll all be relieved to know I am refocusing on my snowman now that life is back to an even keel, and I no longer need to commute.  It aint easy to trim in the winter.  But a resolution is a resolution - so I'm on it.

Also - since my last church I have come to feel that the teen primadonnas of today might possibly be the most annoying creatures on the face of the earth (present readership excluded.....most times)!  Let me tell you why.....

Picture it....church, Sunday, 3 days ago, 11:20 am. Topic?  The evils of technology on our spiritual soul.  I am surrounded by 15-17 year olds for more concerned with how their hair looks than with the lord.  The one in front of me has kindly allowed her tresses to rest atop my coffee cup. The one beside me is practically on my lap stretched out so she can have a rest and comfortably BBM throughout the sermon......I couldn't have wanted to vaporize anyone more.......I get that they expect the world to revolve around them, but some social decorum may not be unwarranted here.  I just can't stand indifference.......

I'm hungry.....its too rainy to go out.....cuppa soup it is.
